How to Store Your Superbike the Right Way

12 Jun 2026

Storing a superbike incorrectly is one of the fastest ways to cause expensive damage. Flat-spotted tyres, corroded brake discs, degraded fuel, and a dead battery are all avoidable if you prepare properly before the bike goes away.

The first thing to sort is the fuel system. Run the tank either completely dry or fill it to the brim and add a fuel stabiliser. Half-full tanks are the worst scenario because moisture condenses on exposed metal and contaminates the fuel as it degrades.

Next, get the bike off the ground and support its weight properly. A quality paddock ramp like the CaVa Racing aluminium ramp keeps the tyres completely unloaded and lets air circulate underneath the bike.

Change the oil before storage, not after. Old oil is acidic. Fresh oil protects.

Disconnect or trickle-charge the battery. A smart charger set to storage mode is the easiest solution.

Finally, cover the bike with a breathable cover, not plastic.
